It Says Here

It Says Here

Moving on from Young Daily which chronically chronicled the first two weeks of this blog, we now have Young Weekly which kicks off with an updated take on the observations originally penned by Yes, Prime Minister in 1986:

The original read as follows:

The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country; The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country; The Times is read by the people who actually do run the country; the Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country; the Financial Times is read by people who own the country; the Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by another country, and the Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is; Sun readers don’t care who runs the country, as long as she’s got big tits.

  • The Daily Mirror is read by working class people who once ran the country
  • The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country
  • The Times is read by the people who ran the country in 1986
  • The Daily Mail is read by Sun readers who thing they are too middle class to read The Sun
  • The Financial Times is read by people who run and own the country
  • The Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by the people and for the people
  • The Daily Telegraph is read by the people who used to read The Daily Mail
  • Sun readers don’t care who runs the country, as long as there are lots of pictures
